CALL FOR CONSULTANT:

Evidence Generation on Queer Menstrual Health Experiences In Benue State

About GWHREI

Global Women’s Health, Rights and Empowerment Initiative (GWHREI) was founded in 2014 to address the vulnerabilities, stigma, and discrimination faced by marginalized and minority women in Nigeria. Our vision is to create a safe and supportive space where women and girls, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, or socio-economic status, can access their fundamental rights and live free from oppression.

GWHREI challenges systemic inequalities that impact health access, economic stability, and social inclusion. We work to combat injustices such as poverty, housing instability, food insecurity, violence, and structural discrimination. Our focus on broader social determinants of health has driven significant progress in HIV prevention and care.

Over time, our programming has expanded to encompass Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), diverse LBQ women’s rights, sex workers’ rights, and other marginalized individuals, advancing equity, dignity, and access to essential services.
